Wave Superposition
'분리' 상태'에서는 파동들이 원래의 상태로 돌아가거나, 특정한 한 가지 상태로 결정됩니다. 두 개 이상의 파동이 같은 공간에서 '중첩'될 땐, 각 파동의 진폭이 합쳐져 새로운 파동을 형성하는 원리로 개별 파동의 진폭이 더해져 하나의 새로운 파동이 형성됩니다. 우리는 이 원리를 창작의 방식으로 확장하여, 각각의 개성의 존중을 바탕으로 독립적으로 창작하며, 함께하는 프로젝트를 통해선 '개성의 합의 새로운 가능성'을 발견하고 창작으로 풀어가는 방식으로 운영됩니다.
In a state of separation, waves return to their original forms or settle into a single, determined state.
When two or more waves occupy the same space and enter a state of superposition, their amplitudes overlap and combine, forming an entirely new wave. We extend this principle into our creative practice. Each participant works independently, grounded in respect for individual identity, while collaborative projects become a space to explore the new possibilities that emerge from the convergence of distinct voices. Through this process, creation becomes a translation of collective individuality into form.
New Korean Image
추구하는 '한국적 이미지'에는 '개성'과 '함께함'이라는 방식 속에 아주 오래전부터 이어진 것과 현시대가 맞이한 것들에 대한 깊은 고민이 있습니다. 과거의 오래된 이미지 또는 시대를 견딘 이미지들 속 무엇을 남길 것인지, 과거에서 현대로 넘어오면서 변한 가치와 소재, 쓰임은 무엇인지를 고민합니다. 이런 고민 속 시대가 공유하는 제작방식, 소재, 생각을 바탕으로 슈퍼포지션만이 보여줄 수 있는 '새로운 한국적 이미지'를 제안합니다.
Our pursuit of a “Korean image” is rooted in a long-standing dialogue between individuality and togetherness—values that have endured across time and continue to evolve in the present. We question what should be preserved from images shaped by history and endurance, and what has transformed as values, materials, and functions move from the past into the contemporary. Drawing from the methods of making, materials, and ways of thinking shared by our time, SUPERPOSITION proposes a new Korean image—one that can only emerge from this moment.
